Location

In southern Brittany, facing the Isle of Groix, on the Morbihan/Finistère border, 10 km west of the bustling city of Lorient. Lorient is a busy town with wide boulevards and a vast array of stylish shops. The excellent zoo at Pont Scorff is just 17 km away.
Environment : PLOEMEUR, 4th biggest town of the Morbihan region of Brittany with 20000 inhabitants. Once a gold mining area, the cliffs shine gold in the glittering light, alongside the fine sandy beaches, wild creeks and inlets.

Lorient. 10 km. Bustling city with wide boulevards and a vast array of stylish shops, lying on an immense natural harbour protected from the ocean by the isle of Groix. Famous for its fantastic Celtic festival held every August when all Celtic nations meet for a week of music and celebrations. Not to be missed.
Isle of Groix. 10 km. Beautiful 8 km-long steep-sided island with gorgeous beaches. Ideal for a day trip and best visited by bike. Boat crossings from Lorient.
Pont Aven. 40 km. Artists’ haunt situated inland from the tip of the Aven estuary. It is a small port popular with tourists and boasting many art galleries. Made famous by Gauguin when he came to paint in the 1880’s before leaving for Tahiti and inspired the Pont Aven school.
Auray. 50 km. Charming little town with beautiful old quarter with delightful 15th and 16th century houses. Nearby Ste Anne d’Auray is Brittany’s most important place of pilgrimage drawing thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world all year round but especially on July 26th for its “Pardon de Ste Anne” which was attended by Pope John Paul II in 1996.

Le Poisson Volant, Ploemeur. 6 km. Tree top adventure park. 3 km from the sea, 2 km from Ploemeur, 4 trails with a very nautical theme. Thrills guaranteed!
Golf du Val Quéven, Quéven. 14 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 72 - 6107m. Superb parkland course with a number of challenges. A firm favourite, it consistently delights the visiting player.
Pont Scorff Zoo, Pont Scorff. 17 km. Fantastic zoo with plenty to occupy and interest the whole family. Allow the whole day to see the whole park and shows. Not to be missed.

FURTHER AFIELD:
Carnac. 60 km. Sought-after and lively seaside resort with excellent sandy beaches. Also renowned for its impressive prehistoric standing stones. A wide range of watersport activities are available as well as a good selection of restaurants and bars.
Pontivy. 70 km. Quaint market town with both a Napoleonic and medieval quarter overlooked by its fabulous 15th century moated castle. Situated on the banks of the Nantes to Brest Canal, it has a lovely atmosphere and boasts a large variety of restaurants and bars. Don’t miss the market every Monday morning!
Vannes. 70 km. Delightful and lively city with narrow cobbled streets and medieval buildings crammed around its cathedral. Outside the old walled town, the large colourful port shelters many yachts and is the point of departure for scenic boat trips to the Gulf of Morbihan islands.
Quimper. 70 km. Beautiful riverside city with narrow cobbled streets, a Gothic cathedral and a host of lively bars and restaurants. Famous for its Breton faience pottery and Armor Lux clothes factory which collections are inspired by the colours of the sea and Breton values.
